REASONS WHY MEN AND WOMEN BEHAVE NATURALLY DIFFERENT

Men and women talk about different things. While men enjoy discussing sports, cars and business, women like discussing their friends or other people he does not know. To her, there is nothing more natural than to talk about people and relationships: it shows involvement, caring and interest, and sharing this with someone she loves proves closeness. So, when not listened to or ignored, a vital element of her is affected. Men on the other hand, talk about sports, politics, cars, jobs, the stock market and how things work. Women see these subjects as boring.

Each tends to listen differently, discuss differing topics, solve problems differently, and have different intimacy needs and search for closeness in a different manner. The truth is that God made it so such that a man and woman can become mutually complete in marriage. No wonder the scripture said, …and they shall become one flesh”, because individually, they are incomplete halves.

Nancy L. Van Pelt, in her book Heart to Heart; The Art of Communication, reveals that there is difference during foetal development between the male and female foetus. During the sixteenth and twenty-sixth week, the left hemisphere of the male foetus’ brain is bathed with androgens from the mother. The corpus callosum - the connecting links between the two hemispheres of the brain – also receives this bath, which reduces the size and number of connections between the hemispheres. This implies that males don’t have an easy access to both hemispheres as females do.

However, the hormonal bath gives a specialization to the male brain that might be called Logical Linear Isolation, which the females don’t tend to have. The left hemisphere of the brain is more logical and the right hemisphere is more intuitive or emotional. This therefore explains why women tend to be more intuitive and emotional than men who are more logical. Therefore, a man’s brain is made by God to be more analytical and a woman’s more emotional. This does not make any of the two genders inferior or lesser than the other. This physiological rooted differences further reinforces the fact that god planned it that the two sexes should complement each other in marriage.

There are exceptions to this and so, some females are more analytic and logical than some males while some men are more emotional and intuitive than females. Recognizing these natural differences will definitely help your communication with your spouse-to-be during courtship as well as in marriage.

So never expect your would-be-spouse to be exactly like you. God created him/her differently.
